Carrol is an Australian vocalist who migrated from Scotland at an early age and as a child played musical instruments, performing at family parties and later started singing at music jams with friends and at the Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, Australia and impromptu performances with bands .Carrol’s introduction to Motown funk has influenced her all her life, this led to the love of blues, neo-soul and the digital world of dance music. Inspirations are the legendary jazz singers Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson through to the soulful Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, neo-soul icon Eykah Badu and the angelic vocals of Eva Cassidy, Ellie Goulding, Lisa Hannigan and Emma Louise. The Ministry of Soundand the advancement of digital electronic music opened up another world of exciting collaborations and experimentation.
