2 years old... shake your hips and shake your booty... from that moment on he was completely sold! Music from the 80 ́s/90’s – that was it! But Bart Bass wanted more; he had an inexhaustible need for new rhythms because the hips and booty demanded more. At the age of 12... he started discovering new music styles, from rock to pop, to hard style. At the age of 14.... he started using a software program in which he could mix on his comput er in his bedroom. Somet imes it drove his neighbours mad because music should be played loud! Ofcourse Bart wasn ́t completely satisfied with mixing on his computer so he dove deep into the art of turntablism and DJ-ing. He started mixing with vinyl at his friend ́s house, and during weekends you could find him at all sorts of places such as cafes, clubs, festivals, etc. This lead to his understanding of the do’s and don’ts of the dance floor. But playing with other people’s vinyl felt like being limited in his own creativity. After working hard and saving a lot of money Bart Bass was able to buy a Traktor Vinyl Scratch. Bart Bass went on a journey to create his own style by comparing and mixing different down tempo, soulful, rhythmic music towards his own Bart Bass style. By improving his technical DJ skills he is now the DJ that rocks the crowds. When Bart Bass turned 18 he started to perform at a few local clubs in Zaandam with his own DJ set. Besides his DJ-ing he also performed weekly at a local radio show called “clubnight” on Zaanradio. When all was said and done, Bart Bass decided it was time to take the next step, which was making his own productions. Although his recordings were tests, the comments were so good he decided to move to Amsterdam.Shortly after Bart Bass arrived in Amsterdam he decided to create his own style. He was so driven by passion that dates were booked to work in the studio, so he could improve his DJ skills and produce tracks. In 2011 he was resident DJ at Panama, Amsterdam. In this period he played on events like Defected in the House, Into Fashion, Glamsterdam, Mad House and many more. He played with DJ’s like Roog, Greg van Bueren, The Shapeshifters, Sister Bliss, Simon Dunmore, Rae, DJ Jean, Brothers in the Booth, Johnny de Mol, Sharam and many more. Nowadays the critics are very enthusiastic about his style of music, which is a combination of Chill Out, Soulful, Funk & Tech House. The first productions where made together with Dennis Hercules. New productions are finished and ready to enter the DJ scene. So keep your attention on Bart Bass this year. He is on his way to change the dance scene across the globe!
