Better on Foot reveal their second release with remixes of an unsigned indie/dream-pop band by the name of Timbre Woods. Comprised of members William Hicks and Brian Fleming, Timbre Woods sound caught the ear of Lomez, who began remixing material shortly after hearing the band perform. Other Baltimore talent Montauke, Dim Neon Sum, and Andrew Grant have also contributed on this edit package, which will serve as a prequel to a forthcoming full album from the band. The release begins with Lomez and William Hicks remixing Cake, resulting in a beyond-disco outing that's mindful of its indie roots. Facedown gets reworked by the enigmatic Montauke, a version that was debuted at an underground beach party in the hamptons last summer. Ghosts of Alcudia gets stripped down into a floor rocking dub by Circoloco's Andrew Grant and production partner Lomez. Send Me Off gets a low-swung, stomping remix from the DJ duo Dim Neon Sum. Pearl Harbor turn in a techno dub for Temples to round out the EP. With this 5 track release, the young label Better on Foot continues to demonstrate a willingness to take risks and show their varying influences; from synth pop, to techno, and disco.
