Tulipa Recordings boss Summer (Brendon Collins) has been chasing severe weather as an important passion of his for some time now. He has recently returned to college to wholeheartedly pursue the science of meteorology and is enthralled by all aspects of weather. Much of the inspiration he derives comes from this passion and it shows in his body of work. Brendon is proud to present the fiftieth release on Tulipa Recordings, Wall Cloud And Wildflowers. This release is an ode to chasing severe storms throughout the spring and summer seasons in the central and midwestern United States.
Hook Echo begins the adrenaline-enhanced journey through the Great Plains. It showcases Tulipa-styled grooves and quickly jets off into explosively convective territory as it builds. Brendon has injected his cutting edge synth work within a hypnotically tenacious atmosphere. Hook Echo rotates with ferocity and feeds off of the available moisture. The second tune, Bear's Cage, is the moment when the rain begins to fall in torrents. Large hail punches against the ground. The wind whips by like an invisible knife cutting through the prairie. Bear's Cage obscures all view and safety ceases to exist. This track is layered with crunching chords, punchy sub-bass, and daunting strings- something perfect for twisted moments. Ending Tulipa's Number Fifty is The Vault. This is the point where things really get moonstruck. The updrafts within the music are so intense that the radar cannot detect any reflectivity anymore. This final song solidifies Wall Cloud And Wildflowers's strength as a release with its earth-rooted groove and quirky character.
Wall Cloud And Wildflowers is a call to all those who have supported Tulipa dearly. Summer (Brendon Collins) first conceptualized Tulipa Recordings three years ago. Phenomenal artists from all over the world have joined in to participate with Tulipa and its endeavors. The label will continue to grow and reach new heights with each astonishing release. Whether it is hot or cold, rainy or sunny, windy or calm- the imprint will march through each season with pride and embrace the present.
