Arrival's 40th release comes from talented British duo Shahin and Bench, who recently appeared on our imprint with their remix of Vintage and Morelli's "Hope." Their latest work is "Viridian," which also was selected as the opening track on Shingo Nakamura's recent "Only Silk 01" compilation. Available for the first time as a full version, this track is accompanied on this single release by two new remixes by Kobana and SNR.
The original mix of "Viridian" begins with a strong beat, as well as soothing background stabs and pad layers. A haunting piano line is subtly introduced, while numerous percussion elements and a groovy bassline emerge. The break features a full piano instrumental -- a truly gorgeous theme -- which is further enhanced by additional melodic layers.
Polish artist Kobana, one of the most celebrated modern artists in progressive house, returns to Arrival with his remix of "Viridian". In his interpretation, a strong beat is quickly established, and an array of synth plucks emerges slowly. In the break, we witness a number of piano melodies, which offer a unique interpretation of the original themes. Later, the track crescendoes to an even higher energy level, supported by a driving, peak-hour bassline.
American act SNR makes his Arrival debut, with another tremendous take. A fairly hard-hitting beat introduces the song, supported by numerous intriguing synth effects and variations. The original theme piano melody is neatly implemented in the soundscape, and the unique effects that continue to arrive in the song never fail to dazzle the listener.
