Resurrecting a classic and dressing it to fits today's standards and style can be tricky business, but when you do it accurately, magic is on the horizon. German techno stalwart, Drumcomplex (Arnd Reichow) joins the Incorrect family with a heavy remake of his timeless piece, "Ultimate" and applies and up-to-date slice of heat whilst doing so. This scintillating dose of dancefloor mayhem combines the warehouse rave sound of yesteryear with the contemporary textures of today's audio palette. Heavy succinct drums and a menacing synth lead create an ominous and brooding soundscape, preparing the listener for the polyphonic adventure that awaits as the break begins. Concurrently, the melodic build-up proceeds to spawn a tension that leads to a climatic explosion of the senses. On the flip side, Roel Salemink harnesses the funk with a bumping tech-house groove beneath the familiar chord progression of the original. His soulful swing inflects a hard-hitting tribal lilt to the proceedings yet keeps the ethereal and uplifting feel, harnessing the original's fiery nature while keeping its own authenticity.
