Lets get straight to the point - as far as new U.K talent goes Duke Dumont is up there with the best of them. Currently riding high off the back of his outstanding Mystery Jets ‘Two Doors Down’ remix (surely a festival anthem?!) and DJ sets the globe over, Duke delivers his long-awaited Dubsided debut. Bringing a little originality and clout back to the box 'Hoy' sounds like nothing else out there at the moment… a full-on burst of reverberating Arabic horns and fervent drums whilst 'Feltham (The Borstal Beat)' is an unruly dancefloor belter with clever samples and a bovver boy bassline. The interludes between are snippets of studio flexin and point towards the depth and integrity of Duke’s debut album due soon… we can’t wait. In 2006, Duke was crowned Diesel U Music champion, beating thousands of other producers to be considered the best unsigned producer in the world, by a host of music industry judges, including 2manyDJs. Previous winners include Mylo and DJ Yoda. Rising to prominence in 2007 with ‘Lean & Bounce’, featured on his debut EP ‘Regality’ on Turbo Recordings, Duke has also opened shows for The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx with his DJ sets and holds down regular gigs at the likes of Fabric, Razzmatazz and Bugged Out. Forthcoming gigs include Space (Ibiza) and Panorama Bar (Berlin).
