What a year it’s been for the Dirtyphonics crew! Not only have they had a run of serious releases all receiving heavy rotation from D&B’s DJ’ing elite and further afield from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Kissy Sell Out but they also picked up the gong for Best Newcomer Producers at the Drum & Bass Arena Awards held at the end of the summer. Now to top it all off they present one final flourish to mark the end of a year that saw Dirtyphonics most definitely arrive. ‘Teleportation’ is an unashamedly in-your-face, punked-out slice of originality from the Dirtys packing so much punch that you won’t dare not like it! After an epic cinematic intro that sets the vibe nicely with some mammoth power-chords and a cool spoken sample, the kicks start to build and roll to yet another stonking, face-rippling drop. The drinks’ll be flying at this point so if you’re in a club you’d better bring your poncho as it gallops away with trademark off-beat breaks and the sickest bottom end. Strong stuff indeed. Then it’s time for ‘Glow’ on the other side with a more regular two-step beat but all the production prowess of before as the guys thump out some booming mid-range riffs and subtle spooky fx that float in the background to make this one a solid addition to any record box.
