Boe's third installment puts a focus back on straight up house with the mysterious Consistent pulling the punches on the Sticky Situation EP. The title track is a deep, chord heavy houser with catchy vocal snippets juggled over a clean 4/4 beat. The track has a moody late night swing to it and lovers of Proper Balance take note - this is one for the serious deep house heads. On the flip side we have Funky Baseline, a no-nonsense house track for the dancefloor. A gritty and groovy baseline bounces around the beats and a neat arrangement always keeps the focus on the groove. Light jazzy cymbals and some stomping vocal edits round off the track perfectly. The second track on the flip is Burnski's take on Sticky Situation. Burnski keeps a similar flow to the original but ups the pace and includes organic sounds such as a delicate kalimba skipping its way beautifully along the track. Burnski's signature modern house sound really complement the wonderful chords and stabs from the original. Its hard to understand why such a bonny lad like Burnski could end up in a sticky situation!
