German label Solardish unveil ten of their current hottest tracks just in time for the end of the summer season. Featuring music from label bosses Zweiklang, Dush, Systemfunk, Alvaro Hylander, Converge, Twinsoul, Fil-a-fil, A-bee & Vagabondo and Dj Latinmix, the ‘solardish Ibiza Sampler 2010’ covers the house music spectrum from warm, deep vocal house, to tech house stompers to peaktime funky-electro club rockers and of course some lush Balearic sunset grooves.
zweiklang are the German twins of Christian and Jurgen and also the bosses of Solardish Records.
zweiklang translates from German into English as ‘two tone’ and perfectly sums up the Dj and production duo from Stuttgart. Their style takes in an eclectic mix of soulful, jazzy and deep sounds with some Latin influences, alongside a healthy dose of tech house. They have worked with record labels including Tricircle, Music Plan, Movin and Coffee Bar Music, attracting support from leading Djs such as Grant Nelson, Shur-i-kan, Stereo Mutants, Dj D and most notably Roger Sanchez who featured their music on his ‘release Yourself’ show.
Spanish-born, now Denmark-based, Alvaro Hylander has worked with Solardish on several previous releases. His music can also be found on the Etoka and Exotic Refreshment labels. He also has a second track on the sampler under his alter-ego Dush, representing a more uplifting, main room sound.
systemfunk is the collaboration between Dom Scott, Al Nandez and Robin Orlando who have also released music through Tricircle. Deep House duo Converge, aka Stephen Brown & Ray Fenwick have remixed tracks featuring vocals by Steve Edwards (of Cassius and Bob Sinclar fame) as well as releasing original music with Broken Records, Diamondhouse, Open Bar Music and B Division amongst others.
twinsoul are twin Puerto Rican sisters whose music is a combination of the original sounds of Puerto Rico and African roots, blended with current dance music. Fil-a-fil is the latest signing to Solardish – a German band made up of talented musicians Jenny J (vocals), Tom Kruse (guitar), Knut Walther (bass), Gordon Hamilton (keyboards) and Dj/producers Jan Lang and Jan Helmerding.
a-bee & Vagabondo both hail from the Czech Republic but now live in Brighton, Uk. To date their productions have been released on Jeepers! Dj Latinmix wraps up the sampler, teaming up with Zweiklang again following the very first Solardish release in January 2009.
