Swiss based label Mina Records have been a firm favourite in the Exclusive camp since we first began working with them back in January of last year. Since that time, their Chilean owner Claudia Ayala has signed and released some of the most beautiful examples of modern, deep house, and hosted artists including Ripperton, Dana Ruh, Estroe, Miss Jools, Clara Moto, Rene Breitbarth and David Durango. Today she welcomes Indian producer, Pawas for his debut release with the label. Born into a musical family, Pawas' first taste of performing, was playing the 'Tabla' alongside his classical musician father. With the flame ignited, he went on to teach himself the arts of Percussion, Keyboard and Bass Guitar. Drawn to electronic music, and DJ'ing in India at the age of 17, it was a 2004 move to Europe that was to be the turning point in his life and career. Having soon gained recognition for his DJ'ing, production was the next logical step. 2007's 'Katang', alongside his great friend Daso immediately caused a stir, and since that time, he has gone on to release and remix for a host of superb labels, including Connaisseur, Fear Of Flying, Spectral Sound, Suol, Flash and many more. Renowned for his wonderfully deep and exotic productions, Pawas is a perfect match for Mina, and his 'Rain Rain' EP is without doubt, one of the labels finest releases to date. 'Rain Rain' original is a gloriously enigmatic number. Its melancholic vocal flows effortlessly, over its warm, swinging bassline, wrapped in a swathe of synth, piano stabs and guitar licks. Beautiful. 'It's Working' with its expansive atmosphere, is driven by its open hats and bouncy bassline which, in the second half of the track, increases in intensity. Deep, moody and delightful. Mina have looked to Germany for their remix artists. Connaisseur and Curle man Franklin De Costa gives 'Rain Rain' a completely new and most powerful reworking, whilst Sonar Kollektiv & Suol duo Trickski, enhance the bounce in 'It's Working', in their true party-starting style.
