The music lives on.Five years have passed since the young label Bar25 celebrated its first release. Back then, Matt John posed the question, "What comes after Monday?" ("Was kommt nach Montag?") while simultaneously providing the first installment in the answer - which so far comprises 26 releases. The sum of these timeless tracks makes up the soundtrack for a place that was more than just a club. The little door in the Wall at Holzmarktstr. 25 closed for the last time in 2010 after over 7 years of existence. The finale of the legendary club on the banks of the river Spree was distilled onto the vinyl release "Bye Bye", but the artistic output has by no means come to an end. The diversity of the enterprising Bar25 collective - made up of friends, musicians and crafty do-it-yourselfers - continues to inform the label's releases.Acid Pauli, Dirty Doering, Matt John, Philip Bader, Niconé und Sascha Braemer, to name just a few, have provided timeless tracks and unforgettable after-hour anthems. We can still expect potent, thrilling and cross-genre work from the 25 label: in April, the double 12" vinyl album "The Bridge" by Matt John - the trailblazer - will be released. Never tired of playing pioneer, Matt John now delivers the first installment in a new release series which, coupled with international Bar25 parties, will transport the music of the label into living rooms worldwide. The series focuses not on individual tracks, but on the mix as a whole, highlighting live performance DJs and their best work.Taking his ingredients from the Bar25 label pool - household names, less well-known artists, and unreleased tracks - Matt John skillfully blends them into a hypnotic, rhythmic potpourri, an ensemble of loops in which beginning and end lose meaning.
