Kyle Geiger has enjoyed a rapid rise up the techno ranks thanks to two very well received releases on Adam Beyer's world famous Drumcode label and a handful of high-profile remixes including reworks for Marco Bailey's MB Elektronics, LA techno dons Droid Recordings and of course Perc Trax, where his recent remix of Material Object, which won the support of Joey Beltram, Paco Osuna, Xpansul, Laurent Garnier, Nihad Tule, Ivan Smagghe, Michel De Hey and many more For his debut Perc Trax EP he serves up two slices of cutting edge American techno, proving that he is at the forefront of the USA's current techno renaissance. First up are the rolling rhythms of 'Ode To The Elders' where Kyle's intricate synth lines float on top of a rock-solid foundation of crisp drums and sub-bass. Opening the B-side is 'Big Orange', a perfect blend of bouncing basslines and layer upon layer of sharp, percussive melodies. To round things Kyle's Drumcode label mate Perc turns in an electro-tinged, 808-driven rework of 'Ode To The Elders' which adds the Geiger name to a Perc remix discography that already includes, Trentemoller, DJ Hell, Phil Kieran, Misc. and many more. This remix is similar to the sound of Perc's recent Richie Hawtin-championed 'Submit EP' on CLR, providing the perfect alternative to Kyle's peak time originals.
