Amam Extra, the sub-label of Amam Records meant to bring you new tracks as quickly as possible, returns with a second EP from Milan-based newcomer Tobia Coffa., featuring two new original productions plus reinterpretations by Jorge Savoretti and Hooved.The EP's title track, "New Life" is like a mission statement of Coffa's vision of house music: both club-functional and seductively sophisticated. Its thumping energetic presence, upbeat but with a tinge of darkness, will pull people onto the dancefloor and make them break a sweat without realizing it. Hooved, known for his work on Time Has Changed, offers a funkier, sleeker version with no less power than the original.Then, "Roma" brings a turning point, a groove that starts off with a saunter, but once the sax loop and handclaps kick in, goes full force with an optimistic aura. Finally, Jorge Savoretti of Esperanza provides a strange, mutated remix, interjecting clattering percussion and melting vibraphones, reinterpreting the piece into a minor-key affair.
