Natural Selection, mixed by Skool Of Thought has a killer instinct, from the stealth-like approach of 'Box Cake' by Afghan Headspin which creeps and pounces with precision, to the straight-for-the-jugular approach of Stenchman's 'Computer Expert', to Skool Of Thoughts Villa Funk which blends funky drums with a snarling bassline to complete this first heavyweight sampler. The sound is raw and true, a departure from the cheap thrills of many passing trends, an endangered species, fierce without being tearing, and uncompromising whilst avoiding self-indulgence; it is indeed, a Natural Selection, a survival of the fittest.
