Alejandro Vivanco was born in Viña del Mar, Chile. Since he was a child, he was close to music because his father used to play tenor sax and was the owner of a huge jazz records collection. When Alejandro became a teenager, he started playing electric guitar. In 1996 his interests shifted towards experimentation in sound, what made him come closer to sound & noise making machines. Since 2001 Alejandro constantly keeps exposing his music as a DJ & since 2004 he keeps building up his reputation as a Producer. His very unique trademark sound consists of precise rythms with a twisted groove and various radical sound contrasts. Vivanco is no stranger to us as he delivered a stunning remix some time ago for international freakshow’s mother label Weave Music No. 14 (Rosselot&Ferante – Los Andes). On the title track of if-10, “Nachtstring”, Alejandro immediately shows his intent, after a short intro consisting of spooky, dark piano sounds, he’s hitting the floor with a (still) dark but also tribalish hypno-groove full of pumpin, crisp percussive elements that make it almost impossible not to start moving to the beat straight away. The A-side of the international freakshow’s 10th episode - “Nachtstring” - offers a maximum of danceability & it is without doubt one of Vivanco’s finest works to date. On the flip Vivanco presents “Cicatizante”, which is another mind-trippin floorbomb that occupies an altogether different headspace, kicking off with a less dark but also perfectly rollin groove with amazing percussion patterns and an embedded rhythmic psycho synthline that says hello from time to time during this tune.
