We start 2012 as we finished it: with a sublime 4 tracker which will tickle your ear drums and make you want to put on your favourite dancing shoes. Tamoki Tamura, Japanese producer based in London and responsible for a host of excellent releases on Nite Grooves and Plastic City, to name but a few, presents two quality tracks, My Place and Oh Sax. Funky and uplifting, My Place ignites the dynamite from the get go with a rude and dirty bass line, with and explicit, deep and sensual vocal. Oh Sax is a slightly more tamed track, extremely groovy, contemplative and poetic, reminiscent of an Allen Ginsberg poem/mantra, comparison which even more accentuated by the saxophone riffs presence in this composition. His music is intelligent bin its construction but also in its intuitive and spontaneous nature. Matt Stars version of My Place, is a more broken down and purified version, in a minimal style that characterises him best, but notwithstanding the booty shaking bass line that projects us into the echoes of the ever present sensual and perverted vocal and leading us straight into Paranoid Dance land. Finally, we go back to techno with Tom Dazings old school version of Oh Sax, in which the saxophone becomes our unique tie to the words natural & organic, in a world of Machines and Drum Machines reign supreme.
