Bomb alert, as they say. Slovenian techno overlord teams UMEK up with local colleague and rising star Mike Vale for this stripped-back yet high-impact romp, following on from the success of their Chosen EP for Great Stuff earlier this year.
The former needs little introduction at this stage, coming hot off the back of a summer residency at Carl Cox's night at Space Ibiza, while Vale comes fresh from a string of releases on Toolroom, Hotfingers and other scene leaders.
My House bubbles along with subtle energy, bass throbbing and perfectly weighted beats rolling above. Droning synths and metallic, resonanting riffs permeate the breakdowns, punctuated by big live drum fills, with a vocal snippet reversed and layered under itself for a mildly trippy effect. It's a track to get lost in, one that creeps up on you and engulfs you before you've even realised what's hit you. Heads-down stomping for dancefloors who like their tech groovy but with just a splash of dirt.
