We welcome another new artist to K9 this time Josh Butler steps up to the plate to deliver a fantastic EP with a firm nod to the past. Josh has been making music since the age of 13 and it is therefore no surprise that at 21 he has a production ear that surpass his age. Hailing from Leeds this young lad has had tracks signed to labels like OFF Recordings, Lovenotmoney, Breakout Audio and Electronic. The lead track 'Music is Everything' is a delicious slice of old school rawness. You could be mistaken for thinking this was a re-release of a track from the 90's, such is the masterful recreation of the past era. The track has been given a bit of deep treatment in the shape of a remix from Della Zouch. Whilst maintaining the old school feel he introduces a garage twist by added swing and a big bassline. 'Decisions' moves away from the old school theme and moves into techno territory, pounding basslines and trippy repetitions are order of the day here.
