On the next Mija instalment we hit hard with some serious BIG ROOM techno with a head to head collaboration from Napolis Abnormal Boyz and Belfasts Miniminds. Four guys from two towns making some killer sounds. In the red corner we have the Abnormal Boyz who have been gaining respect from the techno community releasing tracks and remixes on labels such as Micro.fon, Kiddaz FM, Splitsound, Frankie, AnalyticTrail, Globox, Minibus, Saf and Loose. They have also remixed and collaborated with artists like Joseph Capriati, Simon Stokes, DJ Emerson, Citizen Kain & Phuture Traxx. They are fresh to Mija but punch above their weight so watch out! In the blue corner we have Miniminds, who make their second heavyweight outing on Mija following up their Junk Dancer EP (Nov 2009) which came with remixes from Daniele Papini & M.in. Miniminds have been very busy since their last outting with us clocking up releases on 1605 Music Therapy, 8 Sided Dice, Respekt, Phobiq, Fling, Hedgehog, Rekluse, Mirabilis, Rusted and Teggno with a release forthcoming on Harthouse as well. They recently remixed Hans Bouffmyhre, Brian Sanhaji and Lance Blaise, and have been remixed by Harvey McKay, Sasha Carassi and Piatto. These guys know how to kick ass on the dance floor and by going head to head with the Abnormal Boyz there are going to be fireworks! First up is the EPs title track Moto. This track is a killer peak-time work out with an up-tempo disco bass line, punchy percussion and heady, swirling lead sounds that send the track off. This is not for the faint hearted and will do some damage to peak time floors. Its hard yet funk driven sound will gain attention from tech house and techno players. Rounding up the bout is Briciole, a more hypnotic techno affair with a female spoken word vocal. The punchy rhythm section carries the track along through a subtle arrangement that keeps you hooked yet trips you out, making the track the perfect late night techno track to complement the more fierce antics of Moto. This EP punches in all the right places while never dropping its guard. We hope you enjoy it.. PLAY LOUD!
