The second edition of the Mosso series adheres to its archetypal plan, as Alejandro Mosso leads us forwards on his musical trek and through the grooves carved onto this record.
For this new number, Alejandro Mosso decided to delve back into his archives and take a closer listen to some forgotten, unfinished pieces. Some listeners will surely recognise certain bits of this record as they were part of Mosso's live performance years ago. This is however the first time they will be edited and see the light of day.
On the A-side, 'Aconcagua' is a festive theme on which a magnetic marimba riff turns into an escalating melody, surrounded by a forest of ascending percussions - characteristic of Mosso's production - lightly floating around it.
'Cashmere', the flip, was conceived while airborne on a flying carpet, half way above the Indian subcontinent and below the countles gleaming stars. Perfect instance of Alejandro Mosso's talent, it is a subtle blend of hovering winds and crystallized textures. The Bansuri flute and the clave go hand in hand to form reassuring horizons, the soundtrack for a longer moment of hope, greater perspective and spiritual transformation.
