Always pushing to keep the rhythm fresh, Sprout presents a four-track EP featuring the talents of Mexican-based indie-pop duo Xiaha Troden, showcasing the band's trademark fusion of traditional Latin rhythms and modern electronic essences. With the band's debut album "Sin Palabras" fresh on the streets, Sprout has given the most recognizable single, "Mira Negra" the full remix treatment, calling on rising Belgian techno favorite Dimitri Andreas and label residents D-Nox & Beckers to conjure up a spell for the floor. Using the lustfully smooth ballad-like "Mira Negra" as inspiration, D-Nox and Beckers transform the song into a deep and sultry slice of swinging tech-house which teases the ears with its tense tribal atmosphere. The duo dishes out their finest percussive work to date as the song's basis, layering an intensely hypnotic rhythmic line just beneath a steady crescendo of vocal snippits, digital stabs and sharp effects, while sneaking in just enough of the original vocals to harness the potency of the original. Systematic Records artist Dimitri Andreas provides his full reinterpretation, laying down a light and funky minimal techno backing emphasized by a distorted re-harmonization of the vocals, giving his work a whimsically melancholy tone. A stripped-down instrumental version is also provided by the Belgian star, which keeps the straightforward techno sensibility of his full original vocal mix while giving focus to a thick layer of tones that floats in and out of the arrangement.
