Classic being classic means 'Minor Digital Experiment' isn't a half-arsed attempt at a remix EP, it's a glowing example of one, and thus we're treated to some of the finest names around tackling a small selection of The Digital Kid versus The World's LP tracks.First off Audion & Ryan Elliott have been cajoled into their first collaborative effort for a rework of 'Human Bean' and the Ghostly pair really don't disappoint. Both these artists distinctive aesthetics punch through this remix in equal measure and the result is a gloriously jarring and robust journey into fever-dream, technoid house. Chicago Damn, fresh from releases for his eponymous imprint and Midnight Love Club, delivers one of his well-judged slices of modern deep house with his version of 'Total Control'. Filtered melodies bypass each other wistfully throughout while a contrasting and surprisingly hefty groove provides rock solid foundations. Tom Demac's remix of 'Angels Looking Down On Me' is another quality outing from the producer who has turned many a head recently with his forward thinking use of analogue equipment. Here his futurist leanings are tempered with a handful of classic house tropes and the result is a refreshing and unique sounding number. Snuff Crew are last up but continue the pressure with a melting electro reworking of 'Ahhhrgh' that hints at the originals angsty, melting melodies. The Digital Kid versus The World 'Minor Analogue Experiment'1.
