Cassady Locke has released music on the labels Esho Music, Statra Recordings, Adaptation Records, and together he and I collaborated on Bersa Discos EP # 6. He has remixed Charles Webster & Dawn Tallman, and yet still remains a bit under the NYC radar. Probably because Cassady Locke is a perfectionist. He played me the original version of "Mafele" in 2010 just a week before WMC. I immediately told him I wanted to put it out on Sol*Selectas, brought it to Miami, and opened my set at the "Mi Casa Su Casa" pool party with it, to an amazing response. A year and half later, after several mix-downs and tests in the club, he finished an afro tech remix (The Fulton Sound Remix) and a dub version, that he personally felt was ready to be heard. I'm honored to release this incredibly beautiful tune, and summer is the perfect time to hear this while lounging in the sunshine, and feeling good about life. Supported by Osunlade, King Britt, Master Kev, Halo, Jose Marquez, and Keith Evan. Mastered by Nick Chacona at NCG Studios, Brooklyn, 2011.
