Wayne Gardiner and Eddie Maduros early deep house classic was the first Strictly Rhythm release to gain proper recognition. The success of The Warning, a solid and classy underground groove featuring a spoken word vocal without any kind of obvious hook (it was in the haunting string riff) signalled a sea change in Strictlys modus operandi, which until then had been more informed by commercial New York dance radio. Thousands of DJs and clubheads across the world gave their clear indication that this was the kind of house music they wanted. And their advice was duly noted. The Claude Monnet & Torre Bros mixes are both contemporary and somehow similar to the 1990 original, a reminder of how close we still are to the roots of house.
