The Secret Lemon Project consists of 3 sour guys from Wales (UK) who have been making music which could be classed as dubstep together for the last year and a half (starting around May 2009). While the SLP tracks often contain some typical traits of dubstep (140bpm, half time beats and the odd wobble) they usually sounds just that little bit different from anything else out there and as a result the term lemstep is used as a tounge in cheek genre to classify SLP tracks into.While The Dub Lemon, The Lemon Pharma & Citrus Boy have only been working together to produce dubstep for the last year and a bit they all have a long history behind going back with more that 10 years each DJing in clubs & the free party scene with keen interests in Drum & Bass, Turntablism, Breakbeat, Hip-Hop, Electro, Techno, House and anything else which is good. The means the influences in the music come from pretty much anywhere rather than what trends are popular in the dubstep scene at that moment. The final ingredient to the Lem Step mix is a dash of comedy, whats the point of music with out a bit of fun from time to time.Outside the studio The SLP are currently playing in clubs with a semi-live setup of consisting of all 3 member playing together from 3 laptops, this is still in its early stages and each gig is getting more and more refine but so far the responses have been off amazing and the performances are getting more momentum.
