Marking the 10th anniversary of their debut production, Silicone Soul have dropped their highly-acclaimed self-titled studio album, featuring what some have claimed to be their greatest work to date. ‘Language Of The Soul’ is the second EP from the album and has been given the treatment by an on-fire Sei A, along with 2 great producers; Kevin Yost (under his Nivek Tsoy alias) & Brendon Moeller (Beat Pharmacy). Sei A’s take on LOTS keeps the original’s groove, but removes the deep-rooted Silicone Soul optimism and replaces it with a darker, yet no-less-intelligent swing. Chunky African percussion jumps from the speakers and a hovering, almost industrial synth swells to and fro. A very rhythmical remix from Sei A with moments of moody genius. The Nivek Tsoy remix takes a more laid-back approach with dubbed-out stabs and simplistic, yet very effective percussion. Spacey and mellow, Yost regains the depth of the track but takes it on a different course. The original Language Of The Soul is a beautiful piece of deep house music. Complex, emotive and ultimately, grooving, like any good house track ought to. Silicone Soul may be celebrating 10 years of productions, but their album and especially LOTS sounds as fresh as. Brendon Moeller’s Beat Pharmacy steps up with a succulent slice of dubby, tech-house, teaming with twinkling noises and sweeping synths. Only on the digital release, this is one to watch out for.
