Silk Digital is delighted to present a new two-track EP by Tokyo Bay Cruise, the laid-back progressive style of whom is perhaps best exemplified by his very memorable remixes of Soundprank's "Endgame" and Kazusa's "Coast Along" (which was featured on Silk Royal Showcase 01).
BC's latest offering once again evokes the beautiful, yet melancholic Japanese landscape, from which the name is derived. More specifically, "Twilight" is a lush and poignant collaboration with Ninesh Babu, an artist who is already well known to fans of (Silk sub-division) Arrival Recordings for his beautiful single "Carry On." Dancing chords sit atop a light house rhythm, as various other delicate arp lines begin to gently float through the soundscape. In the break, the chords are solo'ed, while gorgeous strings enhance the emotional resonance of the tune.
The b-side track, "Kyoto Drifter," is an equally moody prog track, once again centered on TBC's signature chords. Innovative, shuffling hats swing in and out of the tune, as the chords crescendo to the main break. There, we are met by a lovely new lead piano melody, as well as a pitched-up electro effect, which lends the drop a bit more intensity and weight.
