After the textural heights of legendary Swedish producer Samuel L Sessions Inner City Dust Vol.1, we continue with four more uncompromising examples of quality contemporary techno. Part 5 is as deep as weve heard from Samuel in recent years - an amazingly haunting exploration into monotonous tonal techno. Stretched out melodic changes and tense, evolving structures lead the way. Heavy, rumbling bass is the focus in Part 6 which freaks out into more deep and dubby textures and Samuels classic percussion fills. Opening up the echo chambers this dirty and smoky cut is full of malevolent energy. On a more freaky tip, the B side shows off Samuels morphing, bubbling analog brew with 2 bassline-led tracks. Part 7 tweaks and twists with a climbing synth arpeggio that remains dirty and filtered yet creeps out of the shadows every now and again... Finally the weighty Part 8 centres around a distorted bass synth that shifts and filters in classic SLS tooly style. Killer, reduced drums keep in rolling, and exemplar minimalist EP is complete!
