This is the story of a lost track. Lost on a hard drive and forgotten, somewhere between old demos and unfinished tracks. After the "Sick Of That Shit" releases last year on Days Of Being Wild - the label he runs with Franz Kirmann, and "Untitled 2", the last Metis release, Catalepsia comes back and show no signs of calming down. The original mix digs into Chicago house roots, which is hardly a surprise coming from Jerome Bazzanella, the man behind the Catalepsia moniker. After all Metis first 12" was called "Im not from Chicago" and the sound of the capital of house music has always been a strong influence on Jerome. The track slowly builds a solid sexy groove around a twisted bleepy riff and Catalepsias signature sci-fi effects sounds. A female vocal and a rhodes keyboard drenched in reverb gives a touch of late 90s french attitude to the mix, recalling some of the best of Motorbass releases. The 2 remixes offers two very different takes on the main mix: With the addition of an aggressive 909 snare and a more prominent bass , The Paris Underground mix (were talking about Paris Texas here!) toughen up the sound, delivering a mix verging more towards Detroit rather than Chicago. Dj Gomor delivers a funked up version where acid gods and Detroit city divinities are gathered for an ecstatic futuristic dance.
