Laying down some moody, funky, techy sounds, Nate Wollman (Post War Records) makes his second appearance on the Tarantic imprint with the “Future’s Comin’” EP. Nate delivers two original tracks: The title track is a dark, earthy affair, with a touch of funk. A progressive synth hook keeps the energy high and a mysterious vocal mantra adds an ethereal feeling. “It’s Just Rhythm” is funkier stuff, with some great hooks, hits, and breakdowns creating lots of dancefloor-filling drama. Tarantic Records enlisted Gabriel Black (Tangible, Eight-Tracks) for a more soulful take on “It’s Just Rhythm.” Gabe’s remix uses the psychedelic elements of the original to great effect, while adding some melodic instrumentation to create a more sensual vibe. Amit Shoham gives us a more progressive take on “Future’s Comin’.” His “horny synth mix” develops the lead hook into a synth-driven journey with several twists and turns along the way. Amit’s dub mix maintains a progressive flavor but strips out much of the synth programming to create a deeper mood.
