Finally we can offer a digital release of Norwegian producer Bjrn Torske's first ever solo-release under his moniker Krisp. Back in 1996, when Bjrn Torske and Per Martinsen toured together, Bjrn dropped these two tracks in his live set. It was decided on the spot that this was just the kind of music that the world needed to hear. A few months later, when "King of techno" (his own words) Derrick May got handed a white label of this record in the middle of his DJ-set at the Quart Festival of 1996, he ended up dropping "Footnotes" as one of his peak time tunes just minutes later in his set! How about that? Of course, we forgive Derrick for rushing into playing the tune without taking it home first. It's not often you come across records as immediate as this. "Footnotes" is one of those strange records that hit you straight in the face in seconds after dropping the stylus into the groove, and "Fleet" is a beautiful deep housey journey as they could only be made back then.
