Growing up on the coast of Poland, maybe it was logical that Sebastian Markiewicz would spend his formative years working at sea. However, with an increasing passion for electronic music, he decided to settle in Manchester, UK. Here he studied sound engineering, while soaking up the rich music atmosphere of the city.
Sebastian's productions are firmly rooted in house music, but with a distinctly Polish character. For three years he has been refining this sound and is now ready to launch his label, Compatible. It features his own releases alongside tracks by Phil Kieran (Cocoon), Sirenize (Bedrock), Ron Costa (Trapez), Two Hand Salute (Bedrock) and other like-minded artists.
The first release comes from Sebastian himself. His original mix of 'Fibre' kicks Compatible off in a deep and hypnotic style as the layers of sound gradually build up, driving the track on with a pulsating insistence.
Next up, Phil Kieran jumps on the remix, giving it a reverberating bassline and adding a funk-fuelled groove that turns 'Fibre' into a perfect stomper for those main room dancefloors.
