Following well-received EPs fromRumahandMetrist, Nineteen89's third release comes from Essex producerCrypt. 'FeelYou' is a high-energy, uplifting house track aimed straight at the dancefloor, effortlessly combining old-school technique with modern production. 'Don't Look Back' is a sub-heavy roller with hypnotic vocals and sinister ambience, while 'Visions' is the darkest of the three cuts, with crunchy percussion and warped bassline.
With releases onFour40 RecordsandGet Some! Records, Crypt's early productions were heavily influenced by the movement of dubstep, especially from the dark 2-step garage sound that first emerged from earlyFWDevents at London'sPlastic People. Fragments of these early influences remain in his productions, blended with the various sounds and textures that have infiltrated the ever-evolving UK electronic music scene.
