For those of you that loved the high days of James Holden's Border Community, when glitched out techno could be as melodic and emotional as a heart break%u2026 for those of you that fondly remember the peak time, progressive days of Sasha and Digweed when it was it was more than just OK to whip out the breaks in a breakdown. This one's for you. Proton Music welcomes the return of Ryan Davis to our label, the man gifted both technically and artistically who's behind both the *back home and klangwelt music labels. And you might recall "Clouds Passing By"? With the massive Eelke Klein and Moobeam remixes, back in 2008? The successor has arrived. "Fawna" is a new 3 track EP of originals from our emotional German melodic techno prodigy. Our man of the hour Andre Sobota took a break in between Proton Music singles and writing his Bungle album to give us an epic take on "A Nature's Son". This is as beautiful and peaktime and classic as progressive gets folks, and it's a real honor to have it on Proton Music. Watch out for the break down, you haven't anything like this in awhile-- promise! On the flip side B-Sides' and Further's Chloe Harris strips down "Opus" for one of her most impressive remixes yet: a minimal techno interpretation awash in early morning, closing hour pads and glitchy, hypnotic synths. Finally, Dual Shaman of Manual Music and Wide Angle comes to us courtesy of Ryan Davis and closes out the release with an alternate mix of Opus that truly captures and refines Ryan's sound.
