This, the ninth release for Mad Eye, sees Beyer deliver three tracks as part of Dactyl. The title track isnt exempt from the Beyer trademarks but sees him deliver a slower, housier take on his driving techno sound. Despite being no less trackier than Drumcode output and certainly no less effective, this is a track which do doubt have broader appeal due to lesser BPMs. The relentlessly bass heavy Follow Your Eyes takes the track 2 position and combines a particularly sinister palette of sounds with flicks of percussion and effects designed for maximum sound system impact. Coming in at just over ten minutes its a dark edged trip of hypnotic grooves which is incredibly captivating. Finally, Beyer throws off the shackles of beats altogether and delivers a soundscape track entitled Miami, which despite the sunshine images its name conjures up is a powerfully aphotic piece.
