Coming from a musical background, Paddy Sheridan, could nothing else but to continue in the footsteps of his brother Richard, who in his day was a composer, except Paddy decided to take a different root, the dance music root. Having worked with one of the best people from super group Enigma Paddy decided to release a track in 1998 called 'Desire'. It reached number 15 in the European charts and number 10 in the Irish charts. He's produced several acclaimed remixes plus an album and more on the way. Few Irish DJs can boost of a 5-year residency at any club, not least at Dublin's most prominent & exclusive club The Pod. It has been an icon to the Dublin dance sense. 'I musically guided the Dublin dance culture though early crazy funky house panorama, and euphonic days of club culture to the more mature sophisticated culture of today. However, having achieved that, I decided to leave the Pod and move across the water to perform my 'euphoric funky house sets' these became very popular' Paddy reveals. Gareth has always been a big music lover and at the age of 16 got his first set of Numark belt drive turn-tables, then once he mastered those it was time to get the big boys (Technics 1210's) For the first few early years he played nothing but hard trance but as the years kicked on and music changed Gareth also had to change his style, never forgetting his roots though, since then Gareth has gone onto play the majority of big clubs in Dublin (Vaults, Temple Bar Music Center AKA The Button Factory, Crawdaddy, Wax etc.) and also through out Ireland, depending on the night you would find Gareth spinning the finest in House, Techno, Tech House and not forgetting Hard Trance, you can also catch Gareth each and every Saturday from 12 midday till 2pm on www.tonikradio.com, Gareth has been apart of Tonik Radio the past 2 years. At the age of 22 Gareth got his first taste of electronic music production when he purchased Reason, he found himself tinkering about with sounds and beats until he was comfortable enough to move onto bigger and better things, in 2010 Gareth upped his game and moved onto Logic 9 and says its the best move he has ever made, since the entry of Logic to Gareth's studio set-up he has had a number of releases, originals and remixes, with more on the way this summer. Also this summer is the launch of GnG (Gareth Murphy & Gretta Neary) which will be getting Gareth's full attention from now on and you can expect from GnG's releases to bring you some tough beats, pounding bass lines with some amazing Piano Solo's, and some sick vocals. 2012 is looking like a very productive year for music for both Gareth and GnG. Gretta took up the piano at 7 years of age along with the violin, organ, tin whistle and bodhran. She reached grade four on the violin but realised that the piano was her instrument and received a distinction in her grade six exam with the Royal Irish Academy of music at 14 years of age. She then decided that scales and arpeggios were not the way she wanted to go and so began training in her performance of big classical numbers. She received a silver medal (grade 6/7) 94%% in her Chopin performance in the NCH. Along with practicing for exams on the piano Gretta also composed music herself from the day she started the piano and so also became known as a singer songwriter to those who knew her performing in battle of the bands and writing tribute music to friends who had passed. She received a music scholarship to St. Columba's College for organ, piano and singing. Gretta also sang in choirs from an early age and was fascinated by different harmonies and the blending of different vocal ranges and styles. With a low alto voice she learned to insert harmonies where her voice would not reach the high notes and so her harmonizing began. Gretta has just finished her higher national diploma in performing arts and received a distinction in her singing throughout the three years and also wrote a piano score for some of the plays that they would be performing. Gretta is starting to persue her passion of creating a unique blend of eclectic styles of dance music (GnG) and realised that a collaboration with the already established dj and producer Gareth Murphy would channel her music in a more accessible mainstream way. And so GnG was up and running. Lectrosoul is a Dj/Production/Promotion crew which includes Warren Kiernan and Marcsound.
