Frankyeffe shows off his synth skills in his "Cut Off" EP, and dives deep into the murky depths of sonic warfare. A prime example of this is the title track which boasts synthetic growls, mangled audio, and dislocated sonar bleeps. However, it's the classy distortion that clearly steps things up.Mladen Tomic flips everything around and employs a rubber-band bassline for extra quirkiness. Bouncy percussion provides the momentum, and the snappiest rhythm section grinds happily along. The EP closes with "Think Is Better" and it's bubbling sub-bass. Subliminal synthesizers and commanding stabs are the order of the day, while tense electronics provide the necessary claustrophobic atmoshpere.
