Sinden proudly presents the first release of the year from his Grizzly label, 'Culture/Deliquesce' by Cardiff-based duo Bodhi (aka Luke Welsby and Olly Howells), due out on February 4th 2013. The last few months have been shaping up pretty well for Bodhi, with their recent remix of 'Angels' by The xx seeing over 266,000 plays on SoundCloud and 5,700 hearts on Hype Machine, and their own track 'Don't You Know' hailed as the second most downloaded of December 2012 on XLR8R. The forthcoming EP from the pair is just as covetable. Opening track 'Culture' is a club-ready riot of housey piano stabs and assertive female vox, while the deeper 'Deliquesce' (meaning 'to become liquid') more than lives up to its name, breathy vocals washing over fizzing beats. "Simply put, 'Culture' is one classy house record," Graeme Sinden comments, "and one of the best I heard last year. I'm so happy to be finally putting it out. Every DJ and music person that has been in my studio and who I've played this to has completely swooned over the chords. Throw in that almighty sub and it's a new classic." Fellow Welsh wunderkind Ifan Dafydd and young Parisian Bambounou (Sound Pellegrino / 50 Weapons / ClekClekBoom) complete the package with two very different remixes. Dafydd tackles 'Deliquesce', tenderly chopping and distorting the vocals and augmenting with strings, while Bambounou twists 'Culture' into a pneumatic techno stomper. What a way to kick off the New Year. ...
