Here comes summer, and to start it off peacefully, Familys sixth release is left in the hands
of our friend Remain. You might as well say that once more Family havent done things by
half with this king size package that mixes pleasures.
Wed met him before for his excellent remix of Diva (Family005). This time hes in command.
On his label Meant, founded with Siskid, Remain represents the revival of the
techno scene. With a strong rock background that he instills subtly into his productions,
Remain shows a prominent and smart sense for the dancefloor. With Concrete, he delivers
a grand techno moment in which the groove takes us away without ever letting go. We
couldnt imagine a better invitation to the dancefloor, and for a remix.
Solo or duo with his partner Steve Cook to form Clouded Vision, Matt Walsh and his neat
productions leave no one indifferent. In his hands, Concrete becomes a nu-disco piece to
which he holds the secret, a real invitation to the dancefloor.
Discovered one year ago (Cambia La Vida), Elagua shows itself as the House part of
Family. The Italian trio again give a melodic and terribly catchy tech-house version of
Concrete. A remix for sunny dancefloors.
Cutting snare, ubiquitous infrabass, this is clearly the essence of the sound of APM001. The
founders of Family N.A.M.E set even more their chillingly beautiful and magnetic universe.
Around the original vocals, the duo installs an explosive tension, then release it, to then
install it again, takes us on a wrong track to finally start over.
Electric Rescue have been on a roll these last few years, especially throughout their label
Skryptöm. Wich seems natural after fifteen years of good and loyal services to the techno
scene. Taking part in not subsiding the original, which he manages brilliantly, he injects a
techno energy, a contained rage into Concrete, foolproof from end to end.
Other producer from Lille that were starting to know, UFO leaves behing the minimal techno
in which he excels to make room for a more introspective atmosphere. A techno with a
robotic groove to which is added successive layers of sounds. Definitely a cosmic remix.
A promise of quality but also of unexpected. Family N.A.M.E is proud to welcome Its A Fine
Line. Tim Paris and Ivan Smagghe take on a relentless techno. An electric replay, with a martial-
like rythmic enhanced further on by muffled complaints. A modern and chillingly beautiful
dancefloor machine.
Pao & mainRo joined the Family two months ago. We had already sensed with their remix of
Diva an out taste for sensitive and delicate atmospheres. The duo illustrate themselves once
more with a sharp replay of Concrete. Around a cotonny groove, the duo develops a delicate
deep house, which is appreciated on the couch as much as on the dancefloor.
Matthus Raman pursues his exploration of dark and uncompromising techno. Which his
almost industrial remix witnesses, where saturation and tension are knowingly distilled leaving
the original melody to appear.
Enjoy, play, but please dont share !
