Although Todd Bodine and Markus Homm can both be counted as Techno aficionados of the highest order, the two have taken markedly different paths to reach their current positions as renowned DJ and producers. Highgrade co-chief, Todd Bodine grew up in Berlin, and here he encountered electronic music as a kind of mothers milk. Clubs and record labels that are now considered legendary, line the path of his musical development, providing a self-evident link to his present. Markus Homm, on the other hand, emigrated with his family as a child to Nuremburg from his native Romania. There he could only ask the local DJs to tell him a few of the hits from their current sets, so that he could find the records and mix them up on the turntables at home. He has also gained a special feeling for music from his role as a professional dancer.Despite their different backgrounds and approach, both men have now found their way into the highest league of the international techno scene. With the Group of Connected Heads the two producers were together for the first time on a record. Now with their co-production Coming Home, they realise the creative synthesis of a real collaboration and the results can clearly be heard. Here are four tracks that exude an almost mystical atmosphere, and their seemingly paradoxical beats derive energy from both their strong dancability and their moments of quiet concentration. Thus, from the very different qualities of Homm and Bodine, comes a new and harmonious whole, which works its way subtly into the ear drums, and may be there for some time to come.
