Irish duo Psycatron have, since 2003, developed a back catalogue which takes in some of the finest house and techno labels in history including Planet E, Simple, R&S and International Deejay Gigolo. The duos melodic, deep techno has found fans in Ewan Pearson, Dave Clarke, Joris Voorn and even Depeche Mode's Martin L Gore a fine name to have behind you if you ply your trade in electronic music.
Defected's Supernova take the recently released 'Celestial Symphony' and deliver a synth heavy big room house version which holds all of the emotive qualities of the Detroit-infused original while adding a direct, tension building arrangement.
Secret Cinema, having delivered their own single on Tronic earlier this year, turn in two lush versions. Their remix continues the peak time theme with tough beats and the original's distinctive synths before dropping into an epic breakdown promptly followed by old school piano licks.
The 'Sunday Afternoon' mix by Secret Cinema is punchy, but entirely more subtle than its companion mix. Dubbed out keys and heavily reverbed synth strings make for a dreamlike feel which is deftly punctured with the aforementioned rousing pianos.
With the original versions of 'Celestial Symphony' still seeing heavy rotation from a wide range of jocks, this remix package only adds to the appeal and is another winner for a label which has had one hell of a year.
