The pair behind the Prime 33 moniker comprises two individuals with distinct and very accomplished backgrounds. Agency owner and promoting heavyweight Nicole Moudaber along with musical brainiac Astrid Suryanto started working together after meeting in Miami through a joint business partner and friend, Victor Calderone. Naturally they hit it off and thus so did begin the creation of music under their new pseudonym. While Astrid has had work on such prestigious labels such as Bedrock, Saw, Universal, EMI, and Virgin Music, Nicole has the privilege of being responsible for A&R at React Music, while project managing the Pete Gooding Café Mambo series. Furthermore, Nicole formerly ran the London-based label Southeast Records, which hosted such names as Tom Stephan, Pete Wardman, and Steve Thomas. If this is not enough, she also runs the longest running night at the legendary Turnmills nightclub in London. They have a fine ear with regards to taste; with Astrid providing the vocal work while the both of them focus on the form and content of the track itself. We currently present to you Burn, a haunting, yet hopeful vocal track that has been supported by all who have copies. There are quite a few mixes laid out on the table here, in hopes that we peak interest levels across the board with regards to stylistic taste. Both of the 16 Bit Lolita mixes are absolute class. Spacey and hypnotic, they have the trademark 16 Bit sound – it is feel good vibes all the way. Dana Bergquist and Glenn Morrison have given a deeper approach, with strings abound and layered harmonies galore, while the Pako and Frederik duo from Global Underground take a breaky-downtempo type feel, using off-beat syncopation to create a different effect with the vocal. Astrid Suryanto’s mix spells proper, and we’re hoping to get this on a major motion picture so fingers crossed on this one. As if this is not already enough, the wizardry of Deadmau5 throws on the table a tribally dark big room affair, which contrasts wonderfully with the melancholy vox. Overall a splendid package and we hope you like it.
