This month we welcome Brazilian Edu K to Anabatic’s growing family. Edu K brings us the Bon Bons EP. It is a full on mash up of Latin American baile and samba mixed with funk and hip hop. Edu k’s sound pushes the boundaries of the music coming out of Brazil. The title track “Avec Bon Bons” showcases his new sound to perfection. It starts off with a funky line that builds until Samba drums bounce off of eachother, and hip hop vocal cuts dropping you into big bass hits. It is pure driving funk that sounds like nothing else. On track two we get “Broken Tap” a deeper and more mellow sound to the crazy driving sound of “Avec Bon Bons.” It is full of weird and off the wall sounds that play off of big drums and pulsing samba lines. Up on the remix of Avec Bon Bons is Worthy who takes things a bit more straight forward and gives us his “chocolate nut remix.” Going off the crazy vocals and drums of the original, Worthy delivers with a funky bassline and hyphy style break down sure to keep any dance floor pulsing.
