Beyond The Magic is a journey into my world, my life and my atmosphere. It gives you a glimpse into my inner state and where my mind has grown since the last release 12 years ago. When I first set out to do this album there was a 50/50 chance that it would not come to fruition. Mainly because of where my mind has been at with the current state of music and what I enjoy in my personal like musically. Having said that, I figured it was time to bring you into my inner sanctum so you can see where my head is at, mentally and physically. Hence BEYOND THE MAGIC.
There are a few important people that played critical parts in my life in making sure this album was completed. For starters.
God because I have had numerous conversations with him to give me the strength and guidance and persistence to get through the trials and tribulations of life and focus on my music. Unforeseen circumstances always has a way of rearing their ugly head at the worse inconceivable time. God is giving me strength to get pass that. Hence the song Life Vs. Living. Thank you for the inspiration.
Que, my bright light at the end of a dark tunnel. If not for you, who knows where I would be at right now No matter what's going on in our lives, you always have a smile on you face and an awesome optimism that always let's me know that everything is going to be okay. I have an awesome woman and I am truly blessed. I Love you...
Victor, WE have the technology. When I said this project wasn't going to happen, you were one of the main people pushing me and saying YES IT IS. You are my right hand man and I always know you want the best for me. I never would have seen this 5 years ago but God has a reason for doing what he does. Only he can see what's going to be, we can't. Glad he solidified our friendship. Thank you for being "Real".
Ronnie (Shaolin) Boy this has been a crazy 2 years hasn't it? Forks in the road almost made this not happen but as I said to Victor, God has a reason for what he does. Never could have seen Elektro Aktive coming and I certainly couldn't have seen this friendship between you and I getting to the place that it has gotten. Thank you. I needed this. Now let's knock these doors down and do work son !!
Eric (Eros) It took us years and years to work together and then all of a sudden God said "Mike Call Eric" and that's what I did. We have had a lot of long conversations about life and everything going on in it. You were on the team pushing me as well. You know how this music thing is. Great today, sucks tomorrow. Guess its something we can't walk away from that easily. Thank you for our Wednesday and Thursday sessions and helping me to keep my head up regarding all of life's imperfections.
Last but Definitely not least, Keat. I must say that if it wasn't for you pushing me and changing my mentality over the past year and a half, this album would not have happened if not for you. I wasn't even considering it. I can say one thing, you are a persistent bastard (LOL) I'm glad though because you helped me to see a bigger picture that I just didn't think existed anymore. At least not in my world. You can't see the color of the house if you are inside of it. Thank you for taking me outside to see the color of the house and all of the beauty around it. Now that the album is done its time for me to kick you in the throat.
Special Thank You's go out to...
