The last time we saw Canadian artist Lessov was on Arrival Sampler #4, where he appeared with the track "White Butterfly". Now, about 5 months later, he's ready with his "Arabashi" 2-track EP on Arrival for its 30th release.
The title track quickly introduces a mesmerizing arpeggio lead as well as smooth synth sweeps underneath. Together, the frisky beat and the bassline form a unique groove, and the soft bell melodies on top create a lush atmosphere. An array of enjoyable melodies and synth structures appear in the break, in which Lessov's attention to detail surely is shown.
The B-side, "Naom", takes us on a groovier tour: the rhodes riff goes extremely well with the background vocal stems and the lively percussion elements. An enjoyable set of chords emerges in the break along with multiple new instruments, and the 'African'-inspired groove continues throughout the song.
