To kick of 2011 at Mija Recordings we have Irelands emerging talent Hypertic deliver us two original trax with a remix from New York techno legend Tony Rohr.
In recent times Hypertic have racked up releases on Resopal Schallware, Love Hertz, FVF Records, Aciitone and Malatoid Records. They recently remixed Hans Bouffmyhre plus the last Mija release from Per Hammar and have a new release coming up with a Roland M.Dill remix on Simplex. They may be young blood but they have a great knowledge of the dynamics of techno and a sound palette that kicks in all the right places.
On this release the lads deliver us two quite different trax. First up is Alpha Train, a deep industrial techno track with rumbling sub-bass, shiny key stabs and an infectious lead acid line. This track will suit sets from basements to Berghain. Next up is 16 Channels which screams BIG ROOM from the off with its rolling percussion and Detroit style stabs, a track that will have crossover potential with house & techno DJs.
Finally Tony Rohr steps up to give us his remix of Alpha Train. Tony is a man that needs little introduction with a prolific back catalogue of releases on labels such as Cocoon, Plus 8, Drumcode, Clink, Hidden Agenda, Weave, Sleaze, Rompecabeza etc. He also records under various pseudonyms inc. Afternoon Coffee Boys and Dirka Dirka. Tony is a long time friend of Mija boss Louis Osbourne so it was only a matter of time before he delivered for the label. Here he gives us a deep, hypnotic and tripped out interpretation of Alpha Train which is as eerie as it is jackin with a nod to an old school New York sound. A top quality remix from a top quality producer.
This is another stomping release from Mija Recordings. Please support in all the right places. Play LOUD and Rave on.
