Silk Textures' 8th release comes from British artist Glide, who is perhaps best known for his brilliant contribution ("Cassini') to Nick Warren's GU35. Since then, he has has remixed for other acclaimed labels, including microCastle and Pacha Recordings. The title of this one, "Air Pusher," fittingly captures the atmospheric vibe through the tune: the main motif is a pad swell, which comes in on the first downbeat of every bar. As the track progresses, the rhythm continues to develop, as do the dynamics of the filtered lead synth.The only remix in this package comes from Silk Textures mainstay Sandji, a talented Dutch artist whose previous work has been supported by the likes of James Grant and Eelke Kleijn. While utilizing the main themes of the original, Sandji's take is a sexy, down-tempo odyssey, clocking in at just under 12 minutes. Halfway through the tune, the track begins to crescendo, as the volume and resonance of the main arp rise and the seemingly live drums pick up in intensity. As the journey comes to a close in the latter half, all of the elements coalesce brilliantly.
