This is Stories In Trance, and as we continue to tell our tale we offer up to you release number thirteen, a debut track from Ivan Sognatore with A Way Through The Woods. Although we continue to build our legacy by working with some of trance's most established producers, we also take pride in giving talented newcomers an opportunity to present their tracks, and after the successful debut from one of our other new producers in DJ Faisi (You & Me, SIT 12), next is Ivan Sognatore. Hailing from Guatemala, Ivan draws his musical influences from a wide range of artists, and here in A Way Through The Woods he beautifully balances a uniquely evocative melody against deeper rolling mids, with subtle movements keeping this relatively short track interesting from start to finish. And now for the remixes, we have called upon two of Stories In Trance's resident artists in American Derrick Meyer and Russia's Max Fishler. This time last year both Derrick and Max were two very talented artists without a label to give them a chance to shine, and now thanks to their ability and imagination, and our open door philosophy both are now well regarded trance producers. We asked for their interpretation of this strong original, and they both deliver top remixes. First we have Derrick Meyer, who opts for an emotive approach, putting his distinctive style into it by focusing on the piano to bring out the strength in this delicate lead melody, adding depth by the gentle usage of supportive mids and superbly subtle movement to leave us with this gorgeous reworking. Then we have Max Fishler, who opts for power, and the end result is nothing short of masterful. Again, by rethinking the original via his own unique style we get a more forceful, punchy version with his tough tech inspired bassline underpinning the constantly evolving lead melody. Yet another gem in Max's ever growing high quality back catalogue. The release sticks firmly to our philosophy of not only showcasing a diverse range of sounds within trance, but also offering balanced releases by seeking out those that can interpret the original in a different way. The aim of our label is to uncover the most talented and imaginative new producers and team up with some of the more established names in the scene to work together in evolving the sound.
