For Bulletdodge's first installment of 2012, they introduce newcomer, Matthias Springer with his '15 Miles to Moscow E.P.' complimented by a tremendous remix from Brendon Moeller. First track to dawn the E.P. is 15 Miles from Moscow, a superb slice of modern deep techno, rolling along with a hynotic bass and Matthias's trademark dubby unpretentious production taste. The intricate textures and deep chords are driven along by a wonderfully deep rumbling percussion that shakes some air but never interferes with the warm, round sub bass pining the groove together. Remixing the title track, is legendary New York producer, Brendon Moeller who provides an appropriate counterpoint to the title track. Moeller delivers a typical Bulletdodge interpretation, keeping the synth stabs and relentless groove whilst bringing the bass right up front, producing a more driving affair but still keeping that moody ambience. Next up is a track called Borderdub Syndrome, and dub it is in every sense. Here Matthias offers an interesting and unique groove that is joined by an array of abstract effects and subtle eerie soundscapes. We're then greeted with Legat - Der - Dunkelheit, a moody, dark encapsulating track that delivers a tight, deep-tech production style with a druggy groove and articulate percursive patterns. The EP culminates with Displaced Acid, a compelling track with a Bass heavy groove and technoid percussion coinciding with signatory 303 acidic components that make this track a monster. ...
